Jungle Habitat, New Jersey
In the summer of 1972 Warner Brothers built an Animal Habitat for visitors to have African like experiences. In November 1972 the park was closed after many incidents happened. Warner Brothers had a great idea of making a Jungle Walk where you could drive in a taxi and walk through.
The idea was really great until things started to happen to people walking around and being stupid and not paying attention.
In October 19, 1972 a tourist was attacked in his taxi by a tiger and sued the park. In 1974 a woman was bitten by a baby elephant who reached out of an enclosure and grabbed her with his trunk. It then bit her and she sued for 200, 000. Later, a plague was brought to the park and all the problems started to pile on.
When the park was closed in November 1972 and the animals were left to rot! A few years later some random people were walking around the old park and came across an elephant carcass and tiger remains. The park is still there today and you can see bones of the old, dead, animals and even the remains of the costumes. It's really cool, and in New Jersey so it's closer than anything else I've blogged about. You should visit. Careful though, some people got tuberculous and children died.
