Pripyat Park, Ukraine

The park was due to open May 1, 1986 for May Day but was never given the chance. On April 26, 1986 the Chernobyl disaster occurred only a few kilometers away. The park opened on April 27 to keep the city people happy until they were told to pack up and leave their homes.
Many years later the Pripyat Park still remains. Where the attractions were built is high level radiation area and is really dangerous to go there. Another freaky thing is that nature has taken over. It feels like everything has become one with nature through the rust and loneliness the park represents.
The, would be, park is used in many different films and a few video games. Even though it is highly dangerous many people travel there every year to see the ruins of the Chernobyl Disaster.
The attractions of the park include a Ferris Wheel, bumper cars, swing boats, and a paratrooper ride. All the rides look extremely depressing due to the fact that children's toys are scattered around the area.
If you want to see Pripyat for yourself you can book a tour at Chernobyl Tour. You can take the day trip or stay in the "safe zone" near Pripyat for several days.
I hear it's really worth the trip and radiation issues after. So go visit and let your horror filled mind run with the wild.

  4. That is very spooky and depressing. It is very sad that the amusement park never was really used for its real purpose of having fun and is instead just a ruin site.
